So, not sure if anyone else is big on MMOs. (I'm a former EQ junky, but haven't gamed seriously in quite some time.) In any case, I got talked into beta testing the game Rift ( www.riftgame.com/en/) which comes out in spring. They do their closed betas in events, and the next one is this Tuesday (Jan. 25) through Friday (Jan 28th). I ended up with 25 VIP beta keys, which will get people into the remaining beta events. If anyone wants one, let me know =) |

And for anyone wondering/playing/whatevering, downloading the beta client & game & patching took me a little over an hour (not too bad for an MMO).
Playing on the Sunrest server, character name will most likely be Etaven.

UGH! I get everything all downloaded, the patcher runs and tells me that a new full download is needed. Took 45 minutes the first time, 8 hours the second. Glugh

That looks amazing. -is a total fan of online games- I used to play games like Flyff and Maple Story, but that was a while ago... My sister got me into playing Starcraft a few months ago, but her laptop broke down, so I haven't played that for a while either.
I'm just not sure if I have for this right now... Stupid summer camp applications and whatnot... Why does the future have to be so important?! >8C;;

Ug, I'm sorry =( That really is so weird; I went back, but nope, nothing more to download-- just took me about an hour and 15 total for downloads & patches on a cable modem. But I did it a few days ago, so maybe there were less people trying to download?
In any case, that sucks =(
