To clarify further on this subject that seems to have touched a few people on their sore sides, I've decided to make a public announcement to make sure nothing is left to question. Raven and I have discussed this, she has looked it over, and agrees that this is a way to keep everyone happy without going overboard.
On the subject of buy back rights and reserves, as the original owner or breeder of any Tiniquine:
Everyone has the right to put this policy into affect at their own stable. Not just me, but everyone. I have no special privileges apart from my moderator title and the ability to color Tiniquines for breedings and public sale (and on the occasion for myself).
There are limitations to this policy in order to keep it reasonable, so that a Tiniquine that you no longer have use or desire for is not stuck with you because the previous owner/breeder is inactive for a lengthy amount of time.
In order to use this policy, you must state a waiting period for your reservation anywhere up to seven days. One week is a long enough time frame for anyone to log in and check their private messages, check their email, or be on their messengers if they have one. If you do not want a reservation held for seven days for you, you may specify a shorter time frame-- but not longer.
If you fail to respond to a message before your specified time period has elapsed and you wanted the Tiniquine in question, you may buy it in public sale if it is still for sale. Otherwise, if it has already been sold, you may reconsider your allotted number of days that you require for your reserves. I use seven days, because I know I will be online at least once per week. For someone who is online more frequently, you may decide to use a shorter length of time.
On the subject of buy back rights and reserves, as the seller of a Tiniquine that has a prefix that is not your own:
It is your responsibility to read the policies of the person using the prefix in question. If they require you hold a Tiniquine for them for three days after the first notification that you are going to sell a Tiniquine with their prefix, you must keep that Tiniquine for at least three days. On the fourth day, you may sell it to whomever you wish. The same applies for someone whose policies state you must hold a reserve for seven days. On the eighth day, you may sell the Tiniquine to whomever.
It is up to the seller to contact the person who uses the prefix on the Tiniquine's name to ask them if they want the Tiniquine back. After the you contact that person, you must keep track of the number of days it has been since the message was sent.
Please do not rely on offline messages on messengers to count as your contact, as sometimes offline messages are not delivered to the recipient.
On the subject of private trading, as the trader of a Tiniquine that has a prefix that is not your own:
I know a lot of us conduct private trades nowadays, and that is fine. Private trading and public sales are two entirely different situations, and should be treated as such. As the owner of a Tiniquine that has a prefix other than your own, you are not required to contact the person who uses that prefix to gain permission to privately trade the Tiniquine.
HOWEVER, let it be noted, private trading is defined as a trade of a Tiniquine for something OTHER than SF (silver flourines). That would be either stud usage, or another Tiniquine. As of right now, I cannot think of anything else that we have available to us in Tiniquines to be traded.
In short, if you want to trade a Tiniquine that has someone else's prefix to another member, you do NOT have to contact the person using that prefix to gain permission to trade.
On the subject of PRIVATE SALES, as the owner of a Tiniquine that has a prefix that is not your own:
If you would like to conduct a private sale to someone, you should follow the same guidelines as you would if you were offering the Tiniquine to the public.
Also Note:
Please also let it be known that if you purchase a Tiniquine from another member that has someone else's prefix, you are expected to uphold that person's policies. If you do not wish to, or do not intend to comply with someone's policies, you should not buy a Tiniquine with that person's prefix.
To conclude, if you implement this policy, please make a post to let everyone know that your policies have changed so there is no confusion. Please also do not make it a regular occurance to change your policies without letting everyone know.
Raven and I are implementing a "master list" as a sticky in the Market forum for everyone who wishes to make use of this policy to list their reservation time, and the prefixes that the policies at their stable apply to.
If you have any further questions, you may direct them to either myself or to Raven.

For example:
I have a Tiniquine with the SFS prefix. Raven's policies state that she would like a 4 day waiting period of reservation before I sell the Tiniquine to the public.
I would message Raven privately and let her know that I was going to sell a Tiniquine with the SFS prefix, and tell her which Tiniquine it was.
I would offer her the right to buy it back from me for what she paid for it, or somewhere close to that if it had gained more show wins since she sold it to me.
If she responded to my message within the four days specified and said she wanted the Tiniquine, I would sell it to her. Otherwise, if she failed to contact me within those four days, I would be able to sell the Tiniquine with her prefix to anyone else that was interested.

For example:
-Nyx contacted me about a Tiniquine I own with the EP prefix.
-She would like to trade a Tiniquine with the MKM prefix.
-Because we are trading Tiniquine-for-Tiniquine, this is perfectly suitable and neither of us is required to contact Creme or Jenn to continue with this transaction.
-However, it would be courteous to let Creme and Jenn know that the Tiniquines have changed owners.
On the subject of PRIVATE SALES, as the owner of a Tiniquine that has a prefix that is not your own:
If you would like to conduct a private sale to someone, you should follow the same guidelines as you would if you were offering the Tiniquine to the public.
For example:
Jenn messaged me privately about a Myst Tiniquine that I own. She would like to buy it for 200sf. It would be necessary for me to refer to Jag's policies and find out the reservation period for all of her prefixed Tiniquines.
After that, if I contacted her and she did not respond, I would sell the Tiniquine to Jenn.
It would be up to Jenn to comply in the future to Jag's policies if she ever wanted to resell the Tiniquine with the Myst prefix.
Also Note:
Please also let it be known that if you purchase a Tiniquine from another member that has someone else's prefix, you are expected to uphold that person's policies. If you do not wish to, or do not intend to comply with someone's policies, you should not buy a Tiniquine with that person's prefix.
For example:
If you buy a Tiniquine from Tigs that has an Afterglow prefix, and you want to put it up for sale (private OR public) you are expected to honor Afterglow's policies because Tigs agreed to them when she bought the Tiniquine.
