THINGS -NOT- TO DO
This page exists for the benefit of anyone looking to join the tiniquine community. Whether you're brand-new to the site or have been lurking for a little while, these tips may come in handy to keep you out of trouble while you learn the ropes. All of the problems mentioned here have been encountered in the past. They're listed here to hopefully educate new members in an effort to avoid repeat offenses.
DO NOT Alter Images
While this may seem obvious, there are a few things that people building their brand new stables will do to violate this without realizing it. The sawdust background given to use should not be changed in an image editor or used on individual tiniquine pages, only your main stable sections. Do NOT take separate images, like the background and a water bucket and turn them into one image. That counts as altering the image. Following this train of thought, don't take different items from the feed or tack rooms and blend them into one image. That's also not allowed.
DO NOT Use Bridle, Halter, Blanket, or Tack Images
The items listed above, namely bridle, halter, blanket, and tack images, are not the same as the other images you're allowed to use for your stable. They are usually custom pieces, ordered by various stable owners for specific tiniquines if they have a coupon or there's a special sale for these items. The ones shown on the main site are merely examples and are not free to use. Don't put them anywhere on your stable page.
DO NOT Take Tiniquine Images That Aren't Yours
If you're a brand-new member who is either awaiting approval or freshly approved, you don't automatically own any tiniquines. Placing them on your stable pages, even if it's only to show off the kind of TQ you want to own someday, is not allowed. You are not that tiniquine's owner and, when its rightful owner finds out that you essentially stole the image of their TQ, they will be less than pleased. Only put up tiniquines that you buy, and only after the deal is sealed. Jumping the gun and paging a TQ before price is agreed upon is generally frowned at.
DO NOT Use More Than One Forum Account
When you sign up to join tiniquines, use one screen name and stick with it. Don't join again under another screen name and pretend to be two different. That's a very big 'no-no' and will get you banned from the board quickly. Having more than one stable to your name is one thing. I have Heart of Gold and Greymist Stables, one for my fantasy TQs and one for my natural TQs, but they are both owned by me. Having more than one account to have multiple stables is where you cross the line and break the rules.
TRY NOT TO Use Chatspeak/Netspeak/1337speak/etc.
Roleplaying is an important part of the tiniquine community. As such, chatspeak is generally frowned upon and members won't want to roleplay with you if you use that kind of language. Try not to use 'u' instead of 'you' or 'r' instead of 'are'. It gets very annoying and people might think you're less intelligent than you really are. A slip-up here and there is fine because, really, we're all human. Consistent usage is a different matter. Replacing letters with numbers is another realm of 'no-no' altogether. Just don't do it. We value the English language and don't want to see it mangled.
TRY NOT TO Post In the Market, Trade, or Want Ads Forum Before Approval
While it may seem like forever before the admin get a chance to look at your stable and decide whether or not to approve your membership, you need to be patient and wait on their decision before trying to acquire any tiniquines. Chatting with current members about it via email or instant messenger is one thing, but posting that you want to buy a tiniquine is jumping the gun a little bit. Wait until you're a listed member before engaging in any transactions.
